WE ARE COMMANDED TO OBSERVE THE NEW MOON
The New Moon is commanded by the Highest to be observed forever.
Psalms 81:3-5
3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.
5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.
We were given this commandment in the wilderness with Moses.
Numbers 10:10 Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.
We also see the continuation of this in the Kingdom which is still prophetic and has not been fulfilled.
Isaiah 66:23 “And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.”
NIOC believes the New Moon is the full moon but there are also members who believe it to be the dark moon. How do we as a body remain one unit if there are some brothers with a slightly different understanding. (1 Corinthians 13:12 For we see through a glass darkly…) We understand that we all will not agree on everything perfectly and we refuse to allow small simple differences to keep brothers from coming together and doings the Most High’s work. Whatever you believe the New Moon to be make sure you keep the commandment and when Christ returns, he will guide us all correctly.
